CASE STUDY

THE QUELL FOUNDATION

The PROJECT

The Quell Foundation strives to normalize the conversation around mental health so they can reduce the number of suicides, overdoses and incarcerations of people with mental illness. The Mixx was brought on to create a cost-effective, inspirational tool which shares real stories of sufferers so they can provide hope and inspiration to those living with or impacted by mental illness. The book will be a leave-behind at events, fundraisers and used as a tool to spread the word about Quell.

The CREATIVE IDEA

To reinforce the book title “Lift the Mask,” we developed custom artwork which visually shows the cover being ripped off to reveal what is underneath. People with mental illness typically hide their truth and reality. Our creative concept is about putting these honest stories out in the public sphere, and not being afraid to do so. To give a more personal and authentic look, we utilized a handwritten font to reveal each person’s name and story. In addition, inspirational quotes are used as divider pages to create moments of hope and support.

This project was very important for The Mixx to be a part of and work on. We all know someone who has been affected by mental illness and we can only hope that these stories continue to be told and people get the support, love and help they need.
